Zero Empty Spaces Downtown Minneapolis Artist Studio Preview Open House

Zero Empty Spaces is hosting a new Open House Preview and Information Session for local visual artists interested in affordable working artist studios in Downtown Minneapolis.

The preview will take place at the new Zero Empty Spaces location at Nicollet Mall, giving artists the opportunity to meet the founders, tour the available studios, learn how the program works, and understand the application process before the space opens more broadly to the public.

Zero Empty Spaces transforms vacant commercial spaces into affordable, professional artist studios that support creative momentum, visibility, and community connection. Over the past 7+ years, the initiative has activated 34 locations across five states and welcomed more than 900 artists into the program.

During the preview, artists will learn about studio pricing, access, available studio sizes, the application process, and the broader vision for building a vibrant creative community in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis. The session will include an overview presentation, open Q and A, studio tours, and time to connect with fellow artists.

This event is designed for visual artists seeking dedicated space to create, collaborate, and grow outside of the home, as well as creatives interested in joining a working artist community with increased visibility through open studios and public engagement.

There is no obligation to apply, though applications are accepted for the waiting list. Space is limited and RSVP is requested.

This opportunity is made possible with support from the City of Minneapolis and the Downtown Minneapolis Improvement District, whose partnership is helping bring new creative energy and artist access to Downtown Minneapolis.
