The Project

Last Spring, MPLSART.COM launched the 2021 Sketchbook Project to connect and support the Twin Cities visual arts community during another difficult year. 70 artists contributed 120 original works to a series of five traveling sketchbooks. MPLSART.COM captured a wide range of artists working in the Twin Cities — from Jerome Fellows to artists just starting on their artist journey. The 2021 project includes established artists like Ta-coumba T. Aiken, Piotr Szyhalski, and Jovan C Speller but also emerging artists like Xee Reiter, Hibaaq Ibrahim, Samuel Fleming, and more. The project captures the zeitgeist of the visual arts community during 2021.

The project will be compiled into a beautiful limited edition hardcover book and the five original sketchbooks will be put up for auction. All net-proceeds will be divided among the participating artists.

The 2020 Sketchbook Project was a huge success with 250 books sold during the pre-sale, the original sketchbooks becoming part of the permanent collection at the Minnesota Museum of American Art, and a sizable amount of cash back into the hands of the participating artists. We offer three sponsorship levels to fit your budget:

BRONZE - $500

Name included on Sponsors page in the limited edition book

SILVER - $1000

Name and logo included on Sponsors page in the limited edition book

How Your Sponsorship Will Help

MPLSART.COM will put your sponsorship dollars to good use. All net-proceeds from the project will be divided among the participating artists. With your support, we will be able to offset our production costs to help maximize the amount of money we can give back to the artists.

Specifically, your sponsorship will help:

Cover costs associated with design, layout, and editing
Print the first 300 copies of the limited edition book
Provide a budget for marketing and PR to reach a wider audience
Provide a base level of income for the artists

Note: MPLSART.COM tries to use Twin Cities-based vendors and contractors whenever possible to keep money in our local economy.

How to Become a Sponsor

Becoming a sponsor is easy. To get started, simply complete the signup form by Febuary 15th, 2022. We will contact you to collect any additional information and assets we need. We'll send an invoice via Quickbooks that you can easily be paid online or via check. We'll work with you to craft the perfect social media posts or ad graphics.
