Denler Gallery in St. Paul, MN is pleased to be presenting the work of Minneapolis-based artist Nate Burbeck in upcoming exhibition, Surface Tensions.
Nate Burbeck is an American artist whose work consists of symbolic and psychologically infused narrative paintings. He depicts figures inhabiting a world of American suburbia suspended between reality and an uncanny, dreamlike state. Transfixed by surreal aberrations, ethereal elements, and transported states of mind his figures often seem on the precipice of change. In other instances the absence of figurative or imaginative aspects gives way to quieter scenes filled with anticipation and possibility, a blend of hope and foreboding.
