Bringing together three established Minnesota artists with distinct visual approaches, this exhibition celebrates the many ways artists cultivate an authentic creative voice. Through texture, memory, abstraction, and emotion, Geisinger, Iverson, and Matthews invite viewers to engage with art through delight, curiosity, and personal reflection.

Presented within the exhibition are three individual bodies of work: Jim Geisinger's Childhood Nostalgia: Evoking Smiles Through Luminous Colors and Impressionistic Storytelling, Andy Iverson's Don't Call It a Comeback and Kim Matthews' More Love.

For Jim Geisinger, painting is fundamentally an act of celebration. Inspired by the innocence and freedom of childhood, Childhood Nostalgia: Evoking Smiles Through Luminous Colors and Impressionistic Storytelling features vibrant, textured works designed to engage viewers and evoke a sense of happiness. His bold use of thick paint and dramatic contrasts rewards both immediate impact and close observation, reflecting his enduring belief that art should entertain, delight, and make people smile.

In Don't Call It a Comeback, Andy Iverson presents works spanning decades of artistic practice that remain unmistakably his own. Characterized by recurring forms and an intuitive visual language, these paintings reflect a hard-won confidence in embracing what comes naturally rather than striving to conform to outside expectations.

Kim Matthews presents two distinct bodies of work, comprising small, contemplative drawings and colorful mixed-media sculptures. Each relies on what she refers to as "handmade geometry" to engage the viewer in close looking, which she hopes will offer respite, reflection, and joy. The title, More Love, refers to a Smokey Robinson song; works in the exhibition pay homage to artist influences, popular culture and lost loved ones.

Together, these artists remind us that there is no singular purpose for art. It can comfort or captivate, provoke curiosity or inspire joy. Most importantly, it offers an opportunity to pause, look closely, and experience the world—and ourselves—through another's perspective.
