In his latest series of micro-momentary comic delineations, Buettner puts to canvas universally odd moments that are uniquely human, through metaphoric use of people and animals. With precisely detailed foregrounds and painterly backgrounds, Buettner’s paintings pull the viewer into private sitcoms and public poignancies of their past that are not normally categorized with words. Pairing beauty and humor, Buettner guides the viewer to interpretations through the lens of their own experiences.

Standup Dramedy, The February 2025 exhibition by Daniel Buettner, is a spoof on one’s life in paintings.
