Southside Preservation Society presents (pre)Occupation, a group show featuring Brenna Peterson, Veda Partalo, and Lucy Comer.
Did you do everything you were supposed to do today? Also did you take the time to do nothing to protest capitalism? There’s a lot demanded on how we spend our time, where we put our focus. We are all being asked to hold so much—creators maybe more than most. Even if that call is coming from inside the house.
Thus, we are so pleased to present: (pre)Occupation. Three artists who get up, get out, and get something in varying ways. Whether taking a leap of full-time artist (Brenna Peterson), a calling that fits outside of library hours (Lucy Comer), or an escape to silent spaces when home became too loud (Veda Partalo), these artists deliver exuberant mischief and a boatload of narrative artistry.
Brenna Peterson is a Minneapolis based painter interested in bright contrasts and unique perspectives. Lisa Comer is an illustrator also based in Minneapolis creating work traversing connection, exploration, and wonder. Veda Partalo, one-time Minneapolis resident, crafts rascals in clay in Frenchtown, New Jersey.
