With Our Seams, Minneapolis-based photographer Diana Albrecht presents a beautiful new portrait series. Albrecht shares: “Our Seams grew from questions stemming from my own experiences at the intersection of transnationalism, queerness, and style. Choices in dress can be a radical act. Tension arises between contemporary and conventional. How can we celebrate our backgrounds in a way that feels true to who we are today? How do modern pressures and historical expectations impact our personal style choices?”
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Diana Albrecht (she/her) is a queer, Korean adoptee, creative currently based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a self-taught photographer who also works as an art director in the advertising space.
Driven by curiosity, her creative work uplifts and celebrates underrepresented stories through honest and joyful visual explorations. She draws inspiration from the authenticity and soul of real, everyday people, and uses a mix of both film and digital formats to create soulful intimacy and connection between subject and viewer.
