Public Functionary hosts a fall open studio event

Public Functionary is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition, PF Studios: nourish, featuring the work of artists who are part of the PF Studios program.

PF Studios: nourish features artworks across various mediums and disciplines highlighting the diversity of the program and the emerging artists within it.The exhibit has been collaboratively curated to explore ideas central to the vital and growing program rooted in developing artist practice and reciprocal relationships. The premise of the exhibit is built on open-ended prompts--  what does it mean to come together in collaboration, solidarity and re-imagination? How do we honor and advocate for the things that matter to us? How does art build alternate worlds, portals, create new language, see abundance and feel connected? How are we feeding this moment in time to build through art and practice? What does it mean to sustain our work in relation to each other when forming the collective and simultaneously, the individual? The answers to these questions appear in various contexts throughout the subject matter and materiality of the artist’s works. The answers are also posed through the theoretical framework that the exhibition is the outcome of a supportive artist community.

PF Studios: nourish is co-curated by Public Functionary team members Tricia Heuring, Leslie Barlow and Sarah Nicole.

Editors Note: This exhibition takes place in the first floor gallery of the Northrup King Building off the main loading dock.
