An opening night reception on November 15, 2025 (6–8 PM)* celebrates the debut of two new juried exhibitions and a solo exhibition at Praxis Gallery & Photographic Arts Center in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis.
* Artist Talk with Luke Erickson at 5 PM – see details below.
This event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to mingle with artists and fellow photography enthusiasts while exploring four galleries of contemporary photographic art and enjoying complimentary refreshments.
The exhibitions will be on display November 15 – December 13, 2025 (Gallery 3 continues through January 3, 2026.)
Gallery 1: Empty Places, Abandoned Spaces
Through the lens of the photographer, abandoned spaces and empty places become powerful metaphors for absence, memory, and the passage of time. This exhibition explores how emptiness can evoke feelings of silence, loss, melancholy, or even renewal.
Gallery 2: The Still Life
Still life photography offers limitless opportunities to explore composition, symbolism, shadow, and form. From traditional arrangements of objects to conceptual interventions that transform the genre, this exhibition invites contemporary reimaginings of the still life.
Gallery 3: My Floating World – Views from Pacific Coast Highway • Luke Erickson
Exhibition Dates: November 15, 2025 – January 3, 2026
Inspired by Japanese printmakers and American icons, Luke Erickson’s portfolio captures the beauty and pathos of Southern California’s Pacific Coast Highway — America’s Western Sea Road from Dana Point to Malibu.
