Veronique Wantz Gallery is excited to host local artist Eleanor McGough’s second solo show with the gallery.
Eleanor McGough explores the interconnectedness of life through patterns in nature. Known for her ephemeral cut paper installations and “vanishing landscapes” painting series, her new work in MULTIFORMITY centers around paintings that pop with patterns that have emerged from her practice of paper cutting.
McGough’s approach to these paintings embraces spontaneous paint application with unconventional tools along with her signature use of deft hand-lined detail. Branching patterns, insects and botanical forms create engaging pattern echoes throughout the work as her scissor cut paper forms interplay in the paintings as stencils and collage elements.
