Mayday 2026 is a community-organized parade, ceremony, and festival held in Powderhorn Park in South Minneapolis. A beloved community tradition since 1975, Mayday is a decentralized, grassroots celebration of spring, peace, and social justice. The event enlivens the Twin Cities through community-driven arts and organizing.
The festivities begin with the Mayday Parade at 12:00 PM, which travels down Bloomington Avenue. Following the parade, the community gathers in the park for the Tree of Life Ceremony and a full day of events, food, and neighborhood connection. This year's commemorative poster and sticker feature art by local artist Masha Volkova, with proceeds benefiting local mutual aid efforts.
