Grand Opening of The Stashery

Grand Opening of The Stashery

Textile Center is thrilled to announce the grand opening of The Stashery, a new, year-round secondhand textile supplies shop dedicated to providing accessible materials for artists and promoting sustainable practices within the fiber arts community.

Located in a repurposed classroom at Textile Center, The Stashery is a curated space offering a wide range of secondhand textile supplies — including yarn, fabric, sewing machines, tools, patterns, and more. This initiative supports Textile Center’s strategic goal of “championing environmentally healthy and sustainable textile art practices.” Every purchase at the Stashery supports Textile Center’s artistic and educational programming for all ages.

At a time when environmental awareness is top of mind, and Minnesota artists are seeking new places to source supplies following the closure of Joann Fabric, The Stashery offers a budget-friendly solution for fiber artists of all experience levels — from beginners and students to experienced makers and casual dabblers.

“Our community shines during our ever-popular Textile Garage Sales — bringing excitement, energy, and creative ideas to our space as they hunt for secondhand supplies and treasures. I wanted to find a way to capture that spirit and provide access to unused supplies all year long,” says Erin Husted, Director of Operations at Textile Center and the visionary behind The Stashery.

“From generous donors looking to rehome the excess from their stashes to those just starting out who need accessible materials, my hope is that everyone will find something they need in this store.”
