Gilding Light | Cynthia Fleury
Artistry presents a solo art exhibition by local photographer, Cynthia Fleury, in the Atrium Gallery
As a former painter in oils and acrylics it’s no surprise that artist Cynthia Fleury approaches her photography as she would a painting; carefully exploring the line, shape, texture and composition of each scene and subject. Using a unique printing method that incorporates metals and different colored metallic leaf, Fleury’s photographs create a depth and mystique reminiscent of daguerreotype print, an earlier form of photographic print created in the 1830’s that also used metal in the processing.
“This gilded work takes the shape, light and form of my vision captured in my travels and creates an elegant metallic piece with a three-dimensional aspect reflecting light almost mystically.” – Cynthia Fleury
