As spring approaches, Calendula Gallery is buzzing with anticipation for one of our favorite annual sights: the vibrant return of the St. Paul Farmers’ Market right outside our windows. Its arrival always feels like a breath of renewal—an explosion of color, fresh energy, and the unmistakable hum of community gathering again after winter’s quiet pause.

Farmers’ markets everywhere offer more than just an abundance of fresh produce, handmade goods, and irresistible aromas. They’re living, breathing celebrations of connection—places where neighbors meet, stories are exchanged, and creativity thrives in every direction.

Gather and Grow embraces that spirit. This exhibition, juried by Jim Golden, Director of the St. Paul Farmers’ Market, brings together artwork that echoes the vitality, resilience, and communal warmth that markets inspire. Installed in the Poppy Room of Calendula Gallery, the show offers a unique dual experience: explore the artwork while gazing out our bay windows at the bustling market below, creating a dynamic interplay between art and the world that inspires it.
