Recovery Bike Shop and The Flux Arts Building are teaming up to bring you an experience like none other at this year’s Art-a-Whirl®.
Need a bike? Start at Recovery Bike Shop and grab one from their lending library! Need a costume? Come to The Flux and get suited up! The theme this year is Disco Cowboy and that means bike flag making, helmet painting, trash chap wearing, and ransom note creating! Saturday, May 16th at 6:00pm, be at Recovery Bike Shop (in the garage) for the RIDE! Bring your bike OR borrow one of ours either way BLING UP your bike Disco Cowboy style with streamers, spoke beads, bells and LIGHTS!
Then at 8:14pm, we will ride off into the sunset where surprise destinations await! We will explore the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District at night. There will be a stop at Bleeding Hearts Studio and other surprises along the way. Eventually we will arrive at the Flux Arts Building for the ultimate Disco Cowboy party! Flap Jacks! Hobby Horses Rodeo?! The final destination is back to Recovery Bike Shop for music and entertainment including artistic whipping!

Giddy Up & Glue Down: Free Collage Station!
Artist: Jen Shaffer
Description: Creating collages is paper play at its best! Our theme is Disco Cowboy and we’ll have lots of materials available at this free collage activity, facilitated by artist Jen Shaffer. Design an abstract composition, write a ransom-style message, or create a vision board! Paper, sparkle, scissors, and glue sticks provided, all ages are welcome.
