ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Catrin Magnusson Artist Statement:
I create ambiguous abstract landscapes, through ceramic sculpture and textile-paintings, that reference the architecture of the natural world. The work is both conceptual and experiment based. My practice is split between research, grounded in the earth sciences, and experimentation with material and gesture.
Genie Castro Artist Statement:
My artworks are intuitively created with a colorful palette in a playful state of mind. I love coming into the studio unrehearsed with a big sheet or two of white paper. Often, I have a concept brewing in my head and to make it to the paper is an experimental process with an outcome the may need revising or may not.
