Join the Story: Support 826 MSP and Celebrate Books for Breakfast (B4B)!
The countdown is on! In just one month on Thursday, November 13, 2025 (8:30–10:00 AM), we'll gather for the Seventh Annual Books for Breakfast, a morning of stories, inspiration, and community at Soomaal House of Art (2200 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis).
This year’s keynote speaker is Marian A. Hassan, the celebrated Somali-born author, educator, and cultural preservationist. Marian’s work honors Somali oral traditions and builds cultural pride among Somali-American youth through storytelling, bilingual books, and oral history projects.
As always, Books for Breakfast (B4B) fuels the programs the programs that make 826 MSP's work possible including our beloved Story Writing & Bookmaking Field Trips. These free field trips bring elementary students from under-resourced schools into the 826 MSP writing center, where they collaborate to write original stories and leave as published authors.
This school year, more than 40 Field Trips are already on the calendar. As an small nonprofit, we relay on volunteers to serve over 1200 students a year and we urgently need volunteer for our Story Writing & Bookmaking Field Trips.
Volunteering is simple: just a three-hour commitment from 10:30AM to 1PM at the 826 MSP center. You can sign up once, twice, or as often as your schedule allows.
