These worthy arts organizations, galleries, and projects need your support on November 12th

Give to the Max Day is upon us and it is an excellent time to help support local non-profit galleries and arts organizations that do amazing work within our community. 

Give to the Max Day was founded by GiveMN.org to increase giving to local non-profits. Every gift entry through GiveMN will be eligible for special drawings and awards. Donations are tax deductible and many of organizations offer matching donations for Give to the Max Day.

While there are many excellent charitable organizations you should consider donating to for Give to the Max Day, the local arts community needs your support more than ever.

Juxtaposition Arts, Inc

Juxtaposition Arts is a teen-staffed social venture and locally-rooted cultural development center, in the heart of North Minneapolis. At Juxtaposition Arts, young creatives & artists are supported in their programs to connect with and develop their passion, talents and promise to improve their lives and spark creative community change. Through their social enterprise JXTALabs, they're on our way to becoming one of the largest employers of youth in North Minneapolis.

Springboard for the Arts Donate Now - Matching Gift up to $1,500
Springboard for the Arts’ mission is to cultivate vibrant communities by connecting artists with the skills, information, and services they need to make a living and a life. When you make a gift to Springboard for the Arts, you support entrepreneurial development, access to healthcare, critical legal resources and innovative community development programs. You also support 230 artist-led projects in their Incubator Fiscal Sponsorship program.

Intermedia Arts Donate Now
Intermedia is a gallery, theater, a place for youth, a community development and social justice organization—all rolled into one. They stimulate deep engagement and provide a platform for the stories and experiences of underrepresented communities.

Free Arts Minnesota Donate Now
Free Arts Minnesota empowers thousands of underserved youth across the Twin Cities to unlock their creativity with the support of community artists and caring adult mentors. Through the power of artistic expression, the Free Arts programs help build personal development for youth who have experienced poverty, homelessness, abuse, and mental illness. 

St. Paul Arts Collective Donate Now
Established in 1977, the Saint Paul Art Collective (SPAC) empowers St. Paul artists through expanding connections and inspirational spaces in which to create and grow. Recognizing that art is essential for a healthy and vibrant community, SPAC has pioneered such major public events as the biannual Saint Paul Art Crawl and special projects like the founding of the first artist residence cooperative in Saint Paul. 

NEMAA (Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association) Donate Now
For twenty years NEMAA’s unwavering dedication to the arts in Northeast Minneapolis, has been key to the growth and success of the vibrant art community we have today.  Originally formed by a collective of artists who wanted to open their studios to the public and to create an opportunity for visitors to buy directly from the artists, NEMAA now consists of over 800 members, consisting of over 650 artists, as well as individuals, galleries, neighborhood groups, and businesses. 

Urban Arts Academy Donate Now - Matching Gift up to $5,000
Urban Arts Academy offers arts-infused education to children in South Minneapolis. Through the arts, they promote social, academic, and family-building skills as well as create and nurture a sense of community among all neighbors.

Kulture Klub Collaborative Donate Now
Kulture Klub Collaborative is an independent nonprofit arts organization that brings together artists and youth experiencing homelessness at YouthLink in the Youth Opportunity Center, a crisis drop-in center located in downtown Minneapolis. Through workshops, open mics, cultural presentations, and "art views," highly mobile young people develop their creative expression, receive exposure to artistic excellence, and enter into a group of peers, supportive adults, and diverse social communities.

MMAA brings great public arts programming to St. Paul, the Twin Cities metro, and the entire state of Minnesota.  As they enter another year of exciting growth, they continue to cultivate innovative partnerships with community-based groups and organizations and maintain an extensive collection of important local and national works of art.

Franconia Sculpture Park & Franconia in the City@Casket Donate Now Matching Gifts up to $10,000
Franconia, passionately supports artists through vibrant residency programs serving over 40 artists from throughout the world each year. They provide endless learning experiences for all ages as well as creating an inspiring place to enjoy time with your friends & family — a free, accessible, expansive exhibition open 365 days per year serving 100,000+ annual visitors.

Public Functionary Donate Now
PF has been influential in recent years in showcasing local artists as well as bringing in national talent to the Twin Cities. They're currently raising money to make improvements on their space and make it a more welcoming environment for the community.

Soap Factory Donate Now
The Soap Factory is a laboratory for artistic experimentation, audience engagement and emerging cultural practice. Founded in 1989 by a small group of artists it was one of the first galleries in the Twin Cities to feature emerging artists. Recent renovations and staffing change have put this landmark gallery in jeopardy of closing for good. Your support now means more than ever.

TuckUnder is an independent artist exhibition space and sculpture site located within the Fulton neighborhood of Southwest Minneapolis.

Projects

Art Shanty Projects Donate Now
Art Shanty Projects fosters construction of artist driven temporary communities that explore the ways in which relatively unregulated public spaces can be used to create new and challenging artistic environments. Working with local businesses, municipalities, and artists of all experience levels, they expand the notions of art and artist. The 2016 On-Ice Program will transform the frozen surface of White Bear Lake into a creative community space that is part art gallery, part art residency, and part social experiment every weekend, 10am-4pm, in February 2016

Little Mekong Night Market Donate Now
An initiative by the Asian Economic Development Association, the Little Mekong Night Market launched two years ago as a means of leveraging arts and culture to highlight the district and create access for low-income communities. The Night Market intentionally draws on local artist-led activities, arts & cultural performances, and food & merchandise micro entrepreneurs and district businesses to create an economic and promotional engine that bolsters and elevates the district and to highlight the strengths of the community. 

Northern Spark Donate Now
