What’s Your Favorite Color?, the May 2026 exhibition by Daniel Buettner, is a pleasurable nod to one of the most basic forms of human happiness: the experience of tints, shades, and tones.
Continuing with his career engulfing micro-momentary comedy, Buettner puts to canvas universally odd moments that are uniquely human, through metaphoric use of objects and animals. With precisely detailed foregrounds and colorful geometric and organic backgrounds, Buettner’s paintings pull the viewer into private sitcoms and public poignancies of their past that are not normally categorized with words. At first sight and through deep meditation, they provoke the viewer to appreciate and share the simple sensory experience of color.
