Weeds with Mailbox | ADAM CROWLEY

CE Artboard is an exterior art site that commissions local and national artists to create work for the site, accessible 24-hours a day at the corner of Case and Edgerton in Saint Paul’s Payne-Phalen neighborhood. ‘Weeds and Mailbox’ is on view through June when Crowley will be an artist-in-residence at CE Studios.

Through a ritual painting practice, Crowley depicts overlooked corners and domestic ephemera with the careful consideration of facture as pretext, to be tested, documented, and unconditionally devoted to. Further complicating its tensegrity when relocated to a site which echoes its thesis, Crowley’s indexical picturesque envelopes visitors with the syncopation of places and their vertical tensions.
