We Are the Story - American Swedish Institute

An exhibition of quilts as part of the multi-venue We Are the Story exhibition.

ASI is among the hosts of We Are the Story, a series of multi-site, juried quilt exhibitions that builds upon symbols of liberation, resistance and empowerment, offering a visually compelling account of the breadth of experiences and struggles that comprise Black history in an honest and critical way.

This exhibition is part of We Are the Story, A multi-site initiative of quilt exhibitions curated by Carolyn Mazloomi, and presented by Textile Center & Women of Color Quilters Network. Other exhibitions include:

The exhibition will be FREE for public viewing in ASI's ground floor Osher Gallery. See ASI's website for advance ticketing information and admissions.

Covid-19 Precautions:
ASI and Fika will be reopening to members September 10th and the general public September 11th. Masks are required for visits and we ask that visitors maintain appropriate social distances. ASI has changed its public hours to allow time for proper cleaning and disinfection of public spaces. Visitors will access the Mansion and exhibitions via timed tickets. Under current State guidance, museums cannot exceed 25% of fire-code capacity or 250 people at one time. Restaurants, including FIKA, cannot exceed 50% capacity.
