Friedli Gallery presents “Vol.2 Twogether”, a solo exhibition of Jacob Z. Wan that explores the intimacy and closeness of the relationship from the LGBTQ experience.
By using materials and objects from the bedroom, Wan creates a dreamy atmosphere for audiences to immerse themselves in waves of emotions and layers of love. With a collection of paintings, books, paper objects, and installations. Vol.2 Twogether expresses the longing and belonging of a gay man and a celebration of the importance of oneself.
Wan is a contemporary bookbinder whose research focuses on conceptual books and the materiality of bookmaking. In addition to his traditional books, book objects, and book installations, Wan also combines performance, time art, and social practice into his bookmaking.
