About the Artist
Jacob Yeates is an artist-educator who has been living in south Minneapolis since moving from Iowa in 2015, and teaching undergraduate studio art courses since 2017. By incorporating modes of visual storytelling in the traditions of drawing, printmaking and narrative illustration with research, found documents, and personal writing, Yeates’s work looks to introduce viewers to particular, historical facets present within the United States’ legacies of state-sponsored violence, ultimately in the hopes of assisting in whatever greater steps can be taken — individually and collectively — towards reflection, accountability, and redress.
