Urban Abstract

Urban Abstract

Artistry presents an exhibition of work by sculptor Luke Achterberg and painter Michael Schmidt

Inspired by the often overlooked and discounted beauty and visual variety of the urban landscape and Americana, artists Luke Achterberg and Michael Schmidt bring us Urban Abstract. While Achterberg pulls directly from graffiti, street art, and hot-rod detailing as inspiration for his sculptural work, Schmidt takes a more abstract approach to his colorful and layered paintings. Together their highly polished surfaces create an undeniable energy frequently found in the City.
