Tilt Brush Battle! A Live VR Art Competition

On Friday, July 9th, from 8 pm - 10 pm, REM5 will be hosting an all new art happening at their laboratory in St. Louis Park, MN. “Tilt Brush Battle!” is a one-of-a-kind event that pits six Twin Cities artists against each other in a timed, VR art creation challenge. The audience will be able to not only watch the art be created from scratch in front of their eyes, but also decide who makes it to round two, and eventually who is crowned the winner.

REM5 is known for pushing the boundaries of art and technology and this event will be no exception. Tilt Brush Battle will combine a high energy art event with the latest in technology. For those who don’t know, Tilt Brush is a VR creation tool where, essentially, you are able to “paint” in three dimensions. Artists can use a palette of brushes to build their objects and scenes that go beyond imagination.

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS
The artists who are participating in this first event in what will become a recurring series, are: Sherstin Schwartz (@Lifeofapaintbrush), Linnea Maas (@insidetherobot), Philip Noyed (@philipnoyed), Matt Semke (@catswilleatyou_art), Ross Auger (@rossauger), and Alex Narva (@artbyalexnarva). Each has their own style and traditional medium, but have begun to explore the potential of VR with the help of REM5’s artist program.

TICKETS
This new event will be a ticketed event where for only $15, you’ll get to enter the experience, vote for your favorite artists, and hop into their pieces in VR once they’re done. Plus, each ticket comes with a beer/soda, live music from Botanicus, and the opportunity to try Tilt Brush for yourself at one of our many creation PODs. Tickets for this event are available here.
