The Shadow Aspect, Motion > Blur, Raised on the Midways of Mid-America

The Shadow Aspect, Motion > Blur, Raised on the Midways of Mid-America

Praxis Gallery presents three new exhibitions.

Gallery 1: The Shadow Aspect

Praxis Gallery showcases photographic art exploring the shadow's formal, conceptual, and metaphoric dimensions. Some works highlight the shadow as a visual form through line, shape, pattern, and texture, while others delve into its cultural and psychological implications, such as foreboding, internal conflict, and the unconscious.

Gallery 2: Motion > Blur

Praxis Gallery presents photographic art that demonstrates the fundamental qualities that make motion & blur a compelling element of contemporary photography.

Gallery 3: Raised on the Midways of Mid-America • A solo exhibition by Debra Fisher Goldstein

Join us for a rare look into contemporary carnival life at the Minnesota State Fair!

Debra is thrilled to present her new exhibit of photography, offering a behind-the-scenes look at lives we don't usually see. Her images explore the lives of a family that travels eight months of the year, with the father working as a Midway Supervisor and the mother homeschooling the kids. As the children enter their teenage years, questions arise about their schooling, travel, and eventual career choices.
