The exhibition explores perceived control and re-imagines the possibility of reordering broken systems and elevating care. With all of the anxiety that many of us carry around the polycrises of our time – this act of re-ordering is a way of considering care and intentionality as an act of resistance.
About the Artist:
Michelle Westmark Wingard of Minneapolis is a multi-disciplinary photographer, combining cyanotypes printed on fabric and paper, textile works, and installation. Her background in darkroom and alternative process photography includes an MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, in 2006. She has been a Gallery Director and educator in higher education since 2007. In May of 2024, she joined Form + Content Gallery.
Wingard thinks about all aspects of her work as gestures of care. She has curated several exhibitions and has also exhibited her own photographic work locally and nationally.
