Gallery 360 forges new ground with a series of contemporary works on paper that portray the many layers of landscape through an innovative convergence of media in an exhibition entitled Strata. Created by local artist Ingrid Restemayer, this design-oriented collection of works combines handmade paper, etching, and hand embroidery that honor the in-the-moment process of creating. Animal based etchings pair with intricately stitched and tied French knots to create a tactile surface quality and unique visual tableau of the landscape. Circling in a world of high-powered art machinery and rapid speed printing, Restemayer’s art pieces redirect the viewer to the wonderful energy and vision only achieved by the human hand.
