An Exhibition Exploring the History and Impact of the Women’s Art Registry of Minnesota Curated by Heather Carroll

The Catherine G. Murphy Gallery proudly presents an exhibition about the evolution and influence of the Women's Art Registry of Minnesota (WARM).

This two-part show combines period artworks and archival materials to trace pivotal events in the early history of the registry, including the development of a gallery, a self-published journal and a mentor program. The show also explores some of the ways its members catalyzed local art movements, programs and artists, such as Arts Core Program for Women at the College of St. Catherine (1975-1976) and The Women's Art Institute (since 1999). With the national feminist art movement of the 1970s as a backdrop, the show reveals the significant role WARM played in shaping the careers of women artists in Minnesota and beyond.

All past and present WARM members are invited to share and archive their memories and stories about WARM at the Oral History Booth during the opening reception.

Featured artists: Ana Laura Juarez, Angela Rogers, Ann Aslanidis, Ann Jennings, Anna Garski, Beth Bergman, Bonnie Wagner, Carlotta Colette, Carole Fisher, Cherie Doyle Reisenberg, Claudia Brown, Diane McLeod, Dorothy Odland, Elizabeth Cleary, Elizabeth Erickson, Gemma Cullen, Harriet Bart, Hazel Belvo, Jane Starosciak, Jantje Visscher, Joyce Lyon, Judith Roode, Linda Gammell, Lynne Lockie, Mari Lyn Ampe, Marilyn Anderson, Marty Nash, Monica Rudquist, Paige Tighe, Patricia Neer, Patricia Olson, Phyllis Weiner, Quimetta Perle, Sally Brown, Sandra Kraskin, Sandra Menefee Taylor, Susan Fiene, Susan McDonald, Vicki Johnston
