ABOUT THE ARTIST: John Salhus was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1970. He attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design from 1989-92 and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1992. He moved to Chicago in 1997 where he is an independent artist and has been working in the field of fine art conservation for the past 20 years.

His work is based in the media of painting and drawing and expanding into mixed media sculpture and installation. The themes of raw materials, building, destructive growth, flow, blockage, and creative power course through his work.

Note: In light of safety concerns, NE Sculpture Park will be practicing social distancing, limiting to 10 people in the gallery at one time, supplying masks to those who do not have, and spraying down/sanitizing periodically.
