Present Tense is a three-week Pride pop-up art show celebrating queer creativity and community in the here and now, presented by Gamut Gallery. Featuring diverse works by LGBTQIA+ artists from across the Twin Cities, this vibrant exhibition offers a snapshot of queer expression in the present moment.
This exhibition is not curated in the traditional sense. Instead, we’ve opened our gallery walls to queer artists to share what feels most present and vital right now; through painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, textile work, and wearable art.
Not every piece is rainbows or resistance. Present Tense offers a powerful snapshot of what it means to live, create, and persist as a queer person in Minnesota in 2025.
Featured artists include:
Bec Skelton, Celia Fuhrman, Chloe Kasper, Christy Babos, Chuck Martens, Dana Sikkila, Francesca Bernardi, Genevieve Antonello, Isabel Betsill, JAF, Kasi Aten, Lauren Jacobson, Leo Fortune, Lumi Forbes, Maddie Stumbaugh, Maya Boo, Ozzy Mortenson, and Ray Simpson.
A portion of the proceeds from the gallery’s commission will be donated to The Aliveness Project, supporting their work with people living with HIV in Minnesota.
