The event will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, beginning with an artist talk at 5:00 PM by author Jim Gerlich, followed by an opening reception from 6:00–8:00 PM.

Pauline Kruger Hamilton was a Minneapolis portrait painter who, at age 41, left her studio to work in Vienna as a photographer’s assistant. Within a short period, she became one of the most sought-after portrait photographers in Europe. Her career was cut short by her early death in 1918, and her name largely disappeared from photographic history.

This exhibition and accompanying book bring together a selection of her photographs, offering a renewed view of her work and situating it within a broader historical context.

The evening includes the artist talk, a reception with light refreshments, and a book signing.

The event is free and open to the public. Seating for the artist talk is limited; advance registration is recommended.
