Emma Ozark and Lyz Wendland will each take over a gallery space to create unique art installations in ArtReach St. Croix's newest show, Ozark & Wendland, Two Installations.
"It is a special treat to turn the gallery over to installation artists. They find ways to play with space that is different from other exhibitions." says ArtReach's Executive Director Heather Rutledge, "It will be fun to experience the results of their creative processes."
Through a combination of animation, comics and performance, Emma Ozark "preserves and reclaims a unique practice of storytelling." Her short, stop motion film about a 'not so distant' dystopian future will premiere during the exhibition and be accompanied by 100+ hand-sculpted faces and sets.
Lyz Wendland's installation, "Way Back Home", will transform our light filled gallery into a space of curiosity, connection and observation with large-scale painted panels suspended throughout. "Inside the core of my work, I use my experience of living within spaces of opposing theories to create an environment of reflection," says Wendland.
