Olio Vintage Celebrates Art-A-Whirl with Local Artists and Makers

Northeast vintage store, Olio Vintage, is proud to be a featured Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) gallery for this year’s Art-A-Whirl event.

To kick off the festivities, Olio invites the community to a special happy hour on Friday, May 16, from 4–6 PM. Attendees can enjoy bubbly, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks while exploring works from a curated selection of local artists and makers. Artwork will be on view and available for sale for the duration of Art-A-Whirl during regular store hours (11am–6pm Friday–Sunday) continuing through the month of May. Join Olio Vintage in celebrating the vibrant arts community of Minneapolis. 

Featured Artists: 

  • Gabriela Garay-Marvin (@glevbaumel): Specializes in intricate pen and ink illustrations that delve into themes of identity and nature.
  • Jennifer Bong (@jfleurfoto): Creates traditional black and white photographs, offering hand-colored Silver Gelatin Prints and expressive portraiture.
  • 1st.ascent (@1st.ascent): Focuses on photography prints that capture the essence of natural landscapes and urban environments.
  • Ben Hering (@benj.amin.al.len): Painter known for vibrant works that explore emotional depth and abstract forms.
  • Henry Forcelle (@henry.studios)Painter creating vibrant figural abstract paintings.
  • Sheila Petersen (@sheilapetersen_portraits): Creates evocative portraits that capture the essence of her subjects through expressive brushwork.
  • Sander Kolodziej (@sander_k_6): Creates & explores cellular worlds through dimensional paintings. 
  • Emiko Rainbow (@emikorainbow): A Minneapolis-based illustrator and designer, Emiko's work celebrates diversity and self-expression through colorful art prints, stickers, and pins.

  • Two Hot Ta: Creates bag charms made from semi-precious stones, adding a touch of elegance to everyday accessories.

  • Mia Makes Things (@whats_mia_making): Colorful, hand-painted ceramics.
