New Exhibitions at Praxis
Praxis Gallery & Photo Arts Center will hold a free opening reception on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 6–8 PM for The Streets and The Interpretation of Dreams. Visitors can meet artists, explore four galleries of photography, and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
New! Gallery 1: THE STREETS
Juried by Jonathan Pavlica, The Streets brings together photographs of public life: its gestures, chance encounters, humor, tension, and relationships between people and place. The exhibition includes documentary and experimental approaches to street photography.
New! Gallery 2: THE INTERPRETATION OF DREAMS
Curated by Praxis Directors, The Interpretation of Dreams explores imagined spaces and interior worlds through surreal compositions, symbolic gestures, lyrical narratives, and the uncanny logic of dreams.
Ongoing — Gallery 3: ROMANCE, MURDER, ROYALTY, WAR
Photographs by Pauline Kruger Hamilton. This exhibition presents the work of a Minneapolis artist who left portrait painting for photography and became one of Europe’s sought-after portrait photographers.
Ongoing — Gallery 4: THE SUBTLETY OF PLACE
Carl Schulze’s handmade black-and-white silver gelatin prints offer a quiet study of landscape, light, and the character of place.
Gallery Hours: Saturdays, noon–5 PM, and by appointment.
