An opening night reception on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. celebrates the debut of new photographic exhibitions at Praxis Gallery & Photo Arts Center in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis.
This event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to mingle with artists and fellow photography enthusiasts while exploring multiple galleries of contemporary photographic art. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
Gallery 1: LANDSCAPES
Photographic works that engage the landscape as experience rather than depiction—examining place through scale, light, atmosphere, and human presence. These images reflect the evolving relationship between environment, memory, and perception.
Gallery 2: THE ABSTRACT IMAGE
Photography that moves beyond representation to explore form, gesture, tone, texture, and visual structure. This exhibition highlights abstraction as a means of discovery, inviting viewers to encounter the photographic image as both object and idea.
Gallery 4: The Subtlety of Place — Carl Schulze
A solo exhibition in the Chemistry Gallery using traditional photo-chemical processes to explore the resonance and perception of place. (Ongoing)
Gallery Hours:
Saturdays, Noon–5:00 PM, and by appointment during exhibition dates
