(Virtual) Move the Crowd 2020

Note: This event has been cancelled. However, Juxtaposition is still raising money for their capital campaign. See their statement and consider donating. 

May 8, 2020, marks the originally scheduled date for our annual Move the Crowd fundraiser. While we were so looking forward to dressing up and celebrating with you in person, the current global pandemic has required us to shift our event to a virtual one.   

On Friday, July 31, we will host our first-ever virtual Move the Crowd, featuring live interactive artmaking, an art exhibit and sale, and exciting announcements.  The creatives at JXTA are working hard to replicate the energy, vibrancy, and dopeness of our regular in-person Move the Crowd. Plus, you’ll have the chance to peep and purchase new work, made in part as an exercise in resilience during these challenging times.   

Your ongoing support helps us continue to provide free programming, education, and employment for over 200 young people in North Minneapolis every year.

2020 marks JXTA’s 25th anniversary, and this year’s fourth annual Move the Crowd will be the most significant in JXTA’s history. Move the Crowd will celebrate JXTA’s past and its accomplishments, and, more significantly, position JXTA for even greater success in the future.   

Move the Crowd is a JXTA-centric celebration of our work and people. The focus is on our young apprentices and the work they create, showcased on our own home base in North Minneapolis. For some of our young apprentices, Move the Crowd is the first time they sell their art and make money from their talent. Attendees at Move the Crowd can peruse and purchase unique artwork created by JXTA apprentices, watch live art, and hear exclusive announcements. Plus, there’s music, tasty eats, signature cocktails, and more entertainment.
