Move, I Dare You Book Launch

Move, I Dare You Book Launch

Taoheed Bayo returns to Minneapolis for the launch of his book "Move, I Dare You".

Embark on a captivating journey with us as we celebrate the launch of "Move, I Dare You," by Taoheed Bayo, a 26-year-old performance artist, director and nomad born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. A creative and long-time collaborator from the Twin Cities creative community. Move, I Dare You is a mesmerizing fusion of intimate photo stills and scattered personal texts. Acting as a compact visual story, a pictorial and textual stream of consciousness, this spellbinding book acts as a personal visual diary, inviting readers to immerse themselves in the author's reflections, musings, and dreams captured during their travels across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. Join us for an immersive evening filled with excitement and inspiration.

The event will feature film screenings that bring the pages of "Move, I Dare You" to life, allowing you to experience the author's journey in vivid detail. Additionally, there’ll be an artist talk and Q&A session between Taoheed Bayo and Malanda Jean Claude, where they will delve into the creative process behind the book and discuss themes of self-exploration, Black voluntary transit, servitude, the search for global creative communes and nurturing creative relationships.

To further enhance your experience, the event will also include sound curation by DJ Kwey.

Move, I Dare You is an Afro-diasporic responsibility to transit and an invitation to servitude.
