Michael Schmidt: Urban Artifacts

Born and raised in Toronto, Michael Schmidt has worked as an artist in the Twin Cities since he moved here 30 years ago. He employs painting, printmaking, collage, and drawing techniques to explore the often-overlooked beauty and visual variety of the urban landscape. His paintings reference time, history, archeology, and decay while also exploring ideas about movement, relationships, and visual energy.​
