Rosalux Gallery is very excited to announce the upcoming exhibition of new paintings from abstract artist Duane Ditty.
Memory will feature a new paintings by Duane which was created over the last year. Duane had this to say about his upcoming show,
"For my upcoming exhibition I have created a series of large abstract paintings. These paintings explore the tension between structure and gesture, between construction and erosion, as a metaphor for the fragility and complexity of lived experience. These paintings are part of an ongoing series investigating how memory, space, and form interact in both conscious and unconscious ways.
Each composition begins with a loose architectural framework of lines, grids, and geometric shapes. These structures are then disrupted or obscured through improvisational mark-making, erasure, and layering. The result is a visual record of intentional imbalance, where clarity and confusion coexist. Circular and linear forms emerge and collapse within the surface. One painting centers around a fragmented sphere, intersected by sharp verticals and faint rectilinear scaffolding, evoking systems under stress or transformation. Another painting, in contrast, offers a looping, gestural path, a spiral form that seems to both contain and escape its bounds, like a thought that refuses resolution.
This body of work does not seek to provide answers or stable readings. Instead, it invites viewers to dwell in ambiguity, to find their own spatial and emotional bearings amid dissonance and repetition."
