Let’s Meet at the Horizon

As noted by the exhibition curators, “...sculpture is only one visible trace of a much larger process of paying attention and continually adjusting our relationship to the world around us.” Across the exhibition works, these visible traces appear as carved wood, cast metal, delicately shaped beeswax, meticulously sewn leather, or an intricate web of electrical lines. The range of material choices are echoed in the scope of conceptual inquiry, which spans ecological networks and personal archives to domestic architecture and illusions of space. Artists in the exhibition include Katayoun Amjadi, Rachel Breen, Cameron Patricia Downey, John Fleischer, Dahn Gim, Alison Hiltner, Alexa Horochowski, Tracy Krumm, Dwight Mickelson, Lela Pierce, Chris Rackley, Aaron Spangler, Kenneth Steinbach, Angela St. Vrain, and Erika Terwilliger.

Curated by Department of Art sculpture faculty, Professor Chris Larson and Associate Professor Rotem Tamir, Let’s Meet at the Horizon is made possible with support from the Harlan Boss Foundation for the Arts. The exhibition coincides with the 32nd International Sculpture Conference, The Evolving Field of Sculpture: Shaping the Future of Public Culture (October 22-25), which will be held in the Twin Cities for the first time since its inception in 1960.

The Regis Center for Art is accessible by U-Card only. Call 612-624-7530 to gain access to the galleries through the building's main entrance located at 21st Avenue South. Parking is available nearby on the street, at the 21st Avenue South ramp, 5th Street South lot, and 19th Avenue South ramp. Hourly or event rates may apply.
