James Boyd Brent | Landscape Stories

New intaglio prints, watercolor paintings, and drawings by James Boyd Brent

Form and Content Gallery presents Landscape Stories, new intaglio prints, watercolor paintings, and drawings by James Boyd Brent. These pieces highlight James Boyd Brent’s incisive takes on representing incidents and histories in the physical world. Here, different settings range from our familiar Minneapolis riverbank, to fountains in Rome, to a variety of other near and far specific places. At times, James constructs people and animals whose forms radiate whimsy and charm in a fantastic world. However, March 27,2020, has a different feeling: this is a celebration of the importance of protest in our democracy. Landscape Stories features honed and beautiful manipulations of watercolor, drawing and intaglio to make sense about our place in the world, especially the world in this strange Covid time.
