Gallery 360 presents an exhibition of torn torn paper assemblages by Neysa Winterer

Inspired by the small thin brushstrokes, exceptional rendering of light and unparalleled beauty that comprises the masterpiece paintings of acclaimed artist, Claude Monet, local artist Neysa Winterer strives to capture the essence of these iconic artworks through her signature medium of torn paper assemblage. This Gallery 360 exhibition entitled, “Impressions of Monet”, takes the viewer on a journey through a sampling of renown works by the founder of impressionism, Claude Monet. Each piece is painstakingly recreated by arranging tiny bits of torn paper to achieve an uncanny likeness in homage to the original oil paintings.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

"My journey with art began when I was a little girl. I loved drawing Holly Hobbie girls. They were just so sweet. Years later, after raising a family, I found my way back into art first through crafting, and then by painting with watercolor, acrylics, soft pastel and even some wood burning. When I came upon torn paper collages a few years ago, it was then that I found my passion.

When I am working on a piece and my studio is cluttered with stacks of materials, I like it that way. I have piles of paper I have to search through. Making collages is like reading a mystery … you have to search through the clues of colors to find just the right hue, intensity, or value." — Neysa Winterer
