Huldufólk Iceland Exhibition Opening + Artist Talk

This very special exhibit, highlights the storytelling, tall tales, and culture of Iceland, told through the eyes of the artists that participated in the 2015 Light Grey Iceland Residency. These artists from around the world share originals, new illustrations, book projects, and photographs from their experience in this sublime, unique, and eerie landscape.

Huldufólk or Iceland's hidden people, refers to the elves, fairies, small creatures from Icelandic mythology. These hidden people are responsible for mischief, landmarks, troll dwellings, people-like landscapes, and are found in a plethora of fairytales, books, and secrets ingrained in Icelandic culture.

Huldufólk features work by Ana Benaroya, Andrew Olson, Bridget Underwood, Erik Krenz, Erin McGuire, Jesse Riggle, Joy Ang, Julianna Brion, Justin Oaksford, Kate O'Hara, Laura Bifano, Matt Forsythe, Michelle Schwartzbauer , Nicolas Delort, Rebecca Olene, and Steven Hughes.

In addition, the opening reception will kick-off with an artist talk by Halo concept artist Justin Oaksford, who will be talking about his experience as a concept artists and educator. RSVP on Facebook
