HOMELAND | Maureen Welter
Gallery 360 is proud to welcome back local artist Maureen Welter with a showing of heartfelt paintings that capture the enduring landscape of the European countryside, in an exhibition entitled HOMELAND.
Inspired by Ireland and its rugged surrounds, Welter takes to the bucolic old country of her ancestors to paint the laborers, farmsteads, animals and landscape that make that area so profound. Welter’s signature oil and beeswax combination of pigments, work to soften the edges of these picturesque vistas, creating a time honored, primitive appearance. This thoughtful collection of works unites heritage with art and the power of that kindred connection.
