Circa Gallery's Group Show Closes Out a 10-Year Run at Its North Loop Location

Summer Salon II, the second installation of Circa's annual summer group show, will open Saturday, August 4, 2018. Summer Salon II will kick off with an all-day opening reception from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm, marking the occasion of the gallery's final exhibition in its 210 North 1st Street space in the North Loop district. The exhibition will run for two weeks, closing August 18.

Summer Salon II features new paintings from the gallery's current roster of artists and the all-day opening reception is celebrating Circa's artists, collectors, its history and the next iteration of the nearly 30-year-old gallery.

"This was Circa Gallery's third location in Minneapolis: we started in a small space near Target Center and our second location was on Hennepin Avenue in Loring Park. We moved to the North Loop space, well before most of the restaurants, boutique shops, and condos and apartment buildings, when previous director Wanda Flechsig recognized the potential of the location and space," said current gallery director Teresa Engeltjes. "Wanda was key to Circa's first 18 years of success and it has been my pleasure and honor to continue Circa's legacy of promoting and exhibiting talented local and national artists' work to the Twin Cities community and beyond."

Once the gallery transitions out of the North Loop location at the end of August, it plans on having a smaller physical presence and partnering with other businesses and/or exploring pop-up opportunities, as well as expanding its online presence. Visitors are encouraged to visit Circa Gallery's website at CircaGallery.org <http://circagallery.org/> for updates and more information.
