While many of the artists exhibiting have enjoyed or will have upcoming shows at the gallery, this show also gives co-directors/curators Ryan Fontaine and Kristin Van Loon an opportunity to work with many other artists they admire. In this forward-looking, wide-ranging survey the curators hope to set the tone for what the future looks like in the HAIRandNAILS program and beyond. 

Half of the show’s artists are local, including Lamia Abukhadra, Christopher Corey Allen, Rachel Collier, Candice Davis, John Fleischer, Isa Gagarin, Breck Hickman, Valerie Oliveiro, Drew Peterson, Don Porcella, Emmett Ramstad, Ginny Sims, and Mathew Zefeldtt as well as recent transplant from Brooklyn, NY to Rochester, MN: Sophia Chai. 

Many of the artists have local roots but are now based on the coasts: Cameron Downey, Katelyn Farstad, Andrew Mazorol, Oakley Tapola in NYC and Jasmine Peck and Tynan Kerr in California. 

Other artists include Sarah Dwyer (Irish artist based in London), Nicole Eisenman (MacArthur Genius and 3x Whitney Biennial standout, Brooklyn), Rose McBurney (New Orleans), Jagdeep Raina (Toronto), Moises Salazar (Chicago), Uman (Somali artist based in upstate New York), Jazoo Yang (South Korean artist based in Berlin).
