Ian Kim Statement:
I have been working on this body of work since the winter of 2025. The documentation of my sculptural work has been reserved mainly due to its physicality and tactile nature that is often hard to capture through photos. The idea of fruits, the season of harvest, the consumption and remainings of this fruit. To imagine what the very first versions, the antecedent of the “fructus(enjoyment)” that we readily consume today. Tree, fruit, seed, form, taste, essence. The fruit that holds value in its mature form but to yield tenfold from its consumption and revealing of its seed.
