Fragments | Karen Caldwell

Fragments | Karen Caldwell

“Fragments” is an immersive exploration of artistic expression that marks Karen Caldwell's first solo exhibition in Minneapolis.

This unique showcase is a fusion of my abstract and abstract figurative styles, harmoniously blending two distinct forms of artistic language into a single, compelling narrative.

“Fragments” invites you to delve into an intimate and empathetic portrayal of the human experience—a collection of stories, moments, and emotions that shape our individual narratives. Each piece on display is a fragment, a glimpse into the intricate mosaic of our lives. Join me in this artistic journey as we reflect on the pieces we carry and discard along our personal paths, unraveling the profound beauty found within the fragments that ultimately compose the whole. Discover the power of storytelling through art as “Fragments” comes to life in the heart of Minneapolis, offering a captivating and thought-provoking experience.

About the Artist:

Karen Caldwell is a self-taught abstract and abstract figurative artist from London and Barbados who currently resides in Minnesota. Her chosen medium is acrylic on canvas, and she uses the term Abstract Afrocentrism to describe her work. This concept derives from the symbolic resonance of “to remove” and “to separate.” and signifies her intent to detach viewers from preconceived ideas they may hold about the African diaspora to make room for a new cognitive experience.
