About the Artists:

Kim Pickering, from Fall River, Massachusetts, has lived and worked in Minneapolis for many years. She mapped over 500 of Minnesota’s lakes and created images of Minneapolis and Fall River neighborhoods. She recently began a series of pieces inspired by dream images that contrast with her realistic images of neighborhoods. Kim received an Honorable Mention Award at the Minnesota State Fair for her 12 panel “Squash on Vacation”.

Susan Kolstad studied art at the University of Minnesota and took classes at both the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and Lesley College. Originally working in oils, she moved on to creating abstract paper collages. At first, they involved representations of people but soon the images became mostly abstract landscapes though some reflected issues, such as war and fracking.

Karen Brown is joining Kim and Sue with her “girls”, sculptures that create a totemic connection between young women and the natural world. They inhabit a magical place somewhere between reality and the dream world, between animal and human.
